Identities

I always seem to have random musings, thoughts, recipes, ideas, etc from my personal life that pop up and I have nowhere to put them.  I have had some pretty good success blogging about my professional life, so I thought it was time to start a blog about the other identities of my life.

My first and foremost identity is that of a Catholic.  My faith is paramount in my life and is the pillar by which I try to live.

Next, is wife.  My husband and I knew each other in high school and had one class together.  We never really talked (I thought he was a weirdo actually) but in spring of 2010 we reconnected via Facebook.  After about a year of dating, he proposed (to which I replied with an emphatic yes!) and we were married in June of 2012.

One of the most rewarding of the hats I wear is that of motherhood.  We welcomed our first child into this world in August of 2013.  From here on out, he shall be known as Little Man (because, you know, internet privacy).  I am also currently 10 weeks pregnant with our second child, so double the love coming July of 2015!

Another major identity in my life is that of teacher.  I am a teacher by profession and I love it so much.  I teach middle school French, which, while difficult at times, is so rewarding as well.  I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My last shaping identity is photographer.  I took photography classes through high school and just fell in love with it.  Out of high school, I purchased my first D-SLR (a Nikon D60) and started up my on-the-side business about five years ago.  It has grown quite a bit since then (especially in the past year).  I love having a hobby that can bring in some good money for us.  Weddings and family/child portraits are my specialty, but I have dabbled in just about everything.  I love to capture the reality of people.  You won't see many stiff, posed shots from me.

So there you have it.  Me, in a nutshell.  As time continues, I will do what I can to keep this blog up to date.  This pregnancy (like my last) has crippled me with hyperemesis gravidarum, so my desire to do much more than lay on the couch is not very large.  Looking forward to blogging more!
